Dowry has been a historically significant practice across various cultures and religious traditions, including the Abrahamic faiths—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This paper explores the role of dowry through feminist theological and socio-cultural lenses, critically analyzing how the practice has evolved within these religious frameworks. It examines scriptural references, historical interpretations, and contemporary feminist critiques, highlighting the intersection of religious doctrines and gender dynamics. The study investigates whether dowry serves as a means of financial security for women or reinforces patriarchal structures that contribute to gender inequality. By drawing on feminist theology and socio-legal perspectives, this research aims to provide a nuanced understanding of dowry’s implications within Abrahamic religions and its relevance in contemporary discourse on women’s rights and social justice.

Parveen Shakir led the way by becoming a representative of the new generation of women. She achieved a distinction in feminist poetry by giving a poetic form to the diversity of topics, the uniqueness of style and experiences, and feminine emotions in her own unique tone and tone. Parveen Shakir has the distinction of being proud of being a woman, but also expressing the feelings associated with women in a bold way Parveen Shakir’s first collection, “Khushboo”, reflects the feelings of teenage girls, but in all her subsequent collections, feminine thought and psychological experiences matured. The problems faced by women became the subjects of her poems. She made the education of the middle class and the exploitation of domestic women under the patriarchal system the subject of her poetry.“Those poems of Parveen Shakir that contain feminist emotions and feelings include “Geelay Baal Se Chhana”,"Sorren","Working Woman", "Bebanahi", "Sajda", "Salgirah", "Waterlo" and "Lady of the House" etc. can be cited as examples. Apart from these poems, there are many poems in which there is a feminine consciousness and tone.
